The following students have been promoted to Eagle Scout, the highest level of recognition in the Boy Scouts:

Nicholas Rudkin, 18, son of Steve and Sharon Rudkin of Spicewood, designed a new fire field and built a 12-foot-by-24-foot building for the Pedernales Fire Department. The building will be used to teach safe laddering and roof ventilation, window rescues and wall breaches. The project took more than 250 hours to complete.

Rudkin is a member of Troop 441 and Venturing Crew 441 in Lake Travis, sponsored by Lake Travis United Methodist Church.

He and his fellow Scouts, along with other volunteers, spent more than 160 hours on the project.

Holloway is a senior at Westwood High School and a member of Troop 513, chartered by Hope Presbyterian Church in Austin.
