Highs in 90s, chance of rain expected in Texas

Highs in the 90s were expected across Texas on Saturday, with a chance of rain in many areas, the National Weather Service says.

Partly sunny skies were expected in the Austin area with highs in the mid-90s. Partly cloudy skies were expected by evening with lows in the lower 70s.

In the Dallas area, mostly sunny skies were expected with highs in the mid-90s. Partly cloudy skies in the evening were then expected to become mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 70s.

In the Brownsville area, there was a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with highs in the lower 90s. By evening, partly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 70s were expected.

Mostly cloudy skies were expected in the Amarillo area with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and highs in the lower 90s. By evening, mostly cloudy skies were expected with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and lows in the mid-60s.

In the Houston area, partly cloudy skies were expected with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and highs in the mid-90s. By evening, partly cloudy skies were expected with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and lows in the mid-70s.
