Colin Lagasse is heading to Dallas.

Lake Travis football coach Hank Carter confirmed on Monday that Lagasse gave a verbal commitment to Southern Methodist University over the weekend. Lagasse, a junior, also reportedly received a scholarship offer from Rice.

A sophomore starter in the secondary for Lake Travis’ 2009 championship squad, Lagasse became a do-it-all all-star for Lake Travis’ 2010 title team.

Lagasse intercepted three passes this fall but it was his work on offense that helped lead Lake Travis to another championship. With quarterback Michael Brewer sidelined midway through the season with a shoulder injury, Lagasse filled in for three games before diverting his attention to other offensive positions.

Lagasse finished the season with 517 rushing yards, 25 receptions and 20 offensive touchdowns. He was honored on the All-Central Texas first team as a utility player.
