Parade celebrates Lake Travis titles

The Lake Travis community hosted a "Parade of Champions" at the Hill Country Galleria Sunday  to celebrate their high school's football and volleyball state championships in 2010.


It was the Cavaliers' fourth straight 4A football title, becoming the largest program in UIL history to accomplish that feat.  The community celebrated the first three championships in the same manner.  The volleyball team won its first state title and joined the festivities this year.

The two teams combined with other student organizations like the cheerleaders, band, and drill team to march through the streets of the mall area, surrounded by hundreds of fans.

Instead of traditional floats, the coaches and players rode in exotic and antique automobiles, hoisting their trophies.
