A dock at a large marina with about 40 boats attached broke loose in Lake Travis just above the confluence with the Pedernales River and floated away as heavy rains fell overnight, according to a National Weather Service report.

The Lower Colorado River Authority predicted the level of the lake would rise about eight feet as a result of the rain overnight.
