Boaters now have another option when it comes to where they can launch their boats on Lake Travis. On Friday, the Lower Colorado River Authority opened a new boat ramp at Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area, which is in the Spicewood area of Lake Travis.

Muleshoe Bend is a popular recreation area known for its mountain biking and wildflowers.

The new 600-foot-long ramp was completed in April but wasn’t available for use because the lake level was too low, until now. Lake Travis is currently at 669.96 ft msl, 666 ft msl is how high the lake needs to be to open the ramp at Muleshoe Bend.

Out of 13 public boat ramps on Lake Travis, the only one not open is at Cypress Creek.
