The baseball teams from Austin High, Bowie and Crockett face playoff opponents this weekend. The Maroons tangle with Churchill while Bowie faces San Antonio Reagan. Crockett seeks revenge against regular season foe Lake Travis. All three clubs compete in a best-of-three games series.

Led by pitchers Josh Hodges and Andrew Boes, as well as a productive offense, Austin earned a fourth place finish in District 25-5A to qualify for the extended season. "It was tough," Austin coach Glenn Bacak said. "We won some games we needed to win." Game one begins at 7 P.M. on Friday at Burger Field. The second game will be at the Blossum Athletic Complex in San Antonio. If necessary, the third game will commence at 4 P.M.

Bowie begins another playoff appearance against Reagan. The Rattlers host the Bulldogs Friday at Blossum, beginning at 7 P.M. Coach Rudy Alvarez will lead Bowie into battle in the second game at Burger beginning at 1 P.M. Saturday with a third game, if necessary, starting at 4 P.M.

Facing former coach Roy Kinnan, Crockett visits the Cavaliers Thursday at 7:30 P.M. First pitch in the second game at Crockett's Garrison Field will be thrown at 7 P.M. If necessary, the third game will begin at Garrison on Saturday at 1 P.M.
