Four local football players will participate in this summer’s Texas
High School Coaches Association all-star game.
Lake Travis running back Andy Erickson, Bastrop wide
receiver Auston Shipley and Baylor linebacker Bryce
Hager will play for the South. Suiting up for the North will
be Wimberley offensive lineman Charlie Tuttle.
The annual senior showcase will be played on July 20 at the
Alamodome.
This past season, Erickson won his third state championship with Lake
Travis and earned Central Texas Player of the Year honors. In 2009,
Erickson accounted for 2,389 yards of offense and 37 touchdowns.
Hager was a first-team All-Central Texas selection while Shipley was a
second team honoree. Tuttle was a first-team all-district pick for a
Wimberley team that reached the state quarterfinals.
The THSCA’s all-star basketball game will be held on July 19 at Bill
Greehey Arena in San Antonio. No Central Texas players were selected to
play in the game.
