Scoring virtually at will in a dominant first half, the Cavaliers ran their consecutive victory streak to 39 games and moved into sole possession of sixth place on the all-time Texas high school list with a blowout of the host Tigers.

The two-time state champion Cavaliers (9-0, 5-0 District 25-4A), the No. 1 team in the state once again, locked up at least a share of another district title. The Tigers end their season at 2-8 and 0-6.

Lake Travis scored all six times it had the ball in the first half and built an insurmountable 42-0 lead. Quarterback Michael Brewer connected on 15 of 18 passes for 265 yards and four touchdowns of 67 and 43 yards to Andy Erickson, a 60-yarder to Tanner Gillette, and a 2-yarder to Conner Floyd. Brewer and Erickson also rushed for scores of 11 and 2 yards, respectively.

Brewer only threw twice in the third quarter before being removed, but Colin Lagasse returned one of three interceptions by the Cavs 88 yards for a score and Kramer Fyfe, who converted seven extra-point attempts, kicked a 45-yard field goal in the fourth period.

Lagasse's interception stopped the Tigers' most promising drive when they reached the Cavs' 13-yard line in the third quarter, but quarterback Quinton Poe's pass was picked off by Lagasse at the 12 and run back for the score. The Tigers were limited to 117 yards rushing and 75 yards passing.
