Search resumes for missing man in Lake Travis

Rescue swimmers will resume their search this morning for a man who went missing in Lake Travis last night, an official said.

A man in his mid-20s jumped off the boat he was on shortly before 7 p.m. near Paradise Cove Marina in the Hudson Bend area, said Capt. Wes Priddy for the Travis County sheriff’s office.

Witnesses began looking for the man and called authorities, Priddy said. Rescue swimmers were unable to locate the man last night, and planned to resume their search around 9 a.m., he said.

Authorities continued to interview witnesses, and narrow down the actual area where the man went missing before reentering the water today, Priddy said.

“We are hoping to make a quick recovery,” Priddy said. “But sometimes these searches take time.”
