AquaPalooza kicks on Lake Travis Saturday and local businesses are
getting ready for the big event.
Lori Clark with the Waterford Marina
said she is already feeling the impact of the crowds to come.
"It
has been crazy. Last week was just call after call after call," Clark
said. "We have a lot of people who are just probably going to come in
that day and want a slip."
Thousands of people are expected to
show up as early as Thursday to hunker down near The Reserve along Lake
Travis. Country artist Brad Paisley is headlining the show.
The
Pier is a restaurant in Point Venture about four miles from the concert.
Owner Mike Walsh has also started to modify operations for their
arrival.
"There's going to be so many people here, we're going to
cut [the menu] down to about 12 items. That will give us better service,
faster service, people can get in and out," Walsh said. "We're going to
serve food on the docks to take away with them."
Walsh, Clark and
other business owners all hope that the big summer event will bring in
big business.
"The part that we're looking most forward to is
just having a bunch of different people in town and giving them a chance
to see this area and what it has to offer in real estate and sales,"
Walsh said.
