This past school year, The Woodlands won state championships in boys cross country, boys swimming and diving and girls soccer. The Highlanders have won four Lone Star Cup titles in the past five years.

Friendswood and Brock won their second consecutive Lone Star Cup championships, while Lucas Lovejoy and Cayuga earned their first titles.

Other Central Texas schools to finish in the top 10 of their classifications were: Bowie, Class 5A; Dripping Springs, Class 4A; Wimberley and La Grange, Class 3A; and Salado, Class 2A.
