Thanks to all the rain - restrictions on fireworks have been lifted this 4th of July.
At the
American Fireworks stand in Bastrop they're testing some fireworks they haven't been able to set off in years.
"It's been 5 years we've been in a drought and we have no restrictions," said Chester Davis, Owner of American Fireworks.
No restrictions means aerial fireworks can light up the sky once again.
"Now they can be a little more loose with their buying purchases and shooting without worrying about burning something down," said Davis.
Still - using common sense about safety is important - especially if you wind up buying a firework that's a dud.
"Don't alter it, don't try to fix it, don't try to make something from something, let us do it because we're the professionals," said Davis.
And make sure you're at least one mile outside the city before you set off those fireworks.
"It's going to be an exciting time," said Davis.
Several areas in Central Texas ban fireworks of ANY kind - including sparklers.
In Austin it is legal to have *certain* sparklers, but in both Round Rock and Pflugerville they are banned.
If you're not sure of the law where you live, call 311 to avoid any tickets this Independence Day.
