It took hard fought wins over Crockett, Boerne Champion and Dripping
Springs, but the Lake Travis baseball team has made it to the Regional
Semifinals.
It's familiar territory, for now. But the Cavs are looking for not only
their first trip to State, but their first trip to the Regional Finals.
"The
ultimate goal is to play in the final four. It's something every kid
strives for, every team strives for. We feel like we have as good a
chance this year as we have the last three," said Cavs head coach Roy
Kinnan.
"We've always believed all year that we could win. I
think these last three series have proved that we can, and got our
confidence up. That's been helpful," said Cavs senior pitcher Wyatt
Church.
Lake Travis will meet up with Corpus Christi Moody in a
best two out of three game series that starts on Wednesday night. It's
the third year in a row they've had to play a Corpus team in the third
round. This year they're hoping that he outcome will be different.
"To
kind of take it to the next level, and take it to where the other teams
haven't and be the first team to make it to the regional finals would
be awesome," said senior pitcher Brad Kuntz.
"It's been a
really good tradition playing Corpus Christi teams. We haven't always
been on the top side, but hopefully we can beat them this year," said
Cavs senior pitcher Jason Harris.
