UIL State Golf Round One

The UIL state golf tournament started on Monday with the Salado boys hoping to score back to back titles.
Ryan O'Rear led the way for the Eagles with a 73. He was the second best finisher overall, and Salado is currently in the lead. Sonora is trailing in second place, just 11 shots off the lead.
On the girls side, Rachel Van Hoozer and Taylor O'Rear were the top finishers for Salado. They are in fourth place while Wall is in first place by 2 shots, but beating Salado by 40.
Competing as a medalist for Hutto, Illisa Riley-Jaggers finished at 8 over par.
Highland Park has been known for its phenomenal golf team over the years. Senior Cody Gribble is coming to Texas next year, and he finished the day with a 66, by far the lowest of the day. HP is in second place behind Richardson Pearce by just 2 shots.
Hudson Hansard competing as a medalist for Lake Travis. He finished with a 74, while the Lake Travis girls are in 4th place after the first day, trailing Montgomery by 25 shots.
