This spacious house in Volente is less than a mile away from Lake Travis. There are many lake views throughout the property, but the best vantage point is from the large, tiled rooftop deck.
The home has a tropical, Florida-meets-the-Mediterranean style. The roof is covered in red barrel tile. The stucco exterior is yellow — the color is called "Treasure Gold" — which looks great with the sago palms, calla lilies and banana tree in the front yard.
The homeowners are Rob and Brenda Lincoln. Rob Lincoln has a background in the finance industry and is involved with ministries at Hill Country Bible Church. He also plays contemporary jazz fusion music. Brenda Lincoln is a licensed drug and alcohol counselor.
"We had lived in South Florida for two years before moving here," Rob Lincoln said. "We were very influenced by the Mediterranean architecture there. We wanted a tropical feel to the exterior, but inside, we wanted it to be less formal."
The interior of the home, which was completed in February of 2008, has warm colors, a Brazilian cherrywood floor and open spaces. The family room, with 25-foot-high ceilings and a fireplace, connects to the formal dining room and is adjacent to the kitchen.
The town of Volente, where the house is located, is 18 miles northwest of Austin in northwest Travis County. Its best-known attraction is the Volente Beach Waterpark.
The house is just down the road from the Sandy Creek Yacht Club & Marina, which includes the Café Blue restaurant.
This home has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, two half-bathrooms and 4,800 square feet. The lot is about 10.6 acres; of this, the owners can build on 1.6 acres. The remainder is considered part of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve.
