Lake Travis Marinas

Lake Travis offers many marinas to choose from, and deciding which marina is best for you and your family can be a daunting task. Here are some things to think about when making your decision:

  • What is your budget? Docking your boat is only one of the costs associated with boat ownership. Make sure you find a marina that can meet your needs and still fit within your set budget. Check about monthly and annual membership fees.

  • How will you perform maintenance on your boat? Are there on-site maintenance facilities, or will you need to remove your boat from the marina to have work done on it?

  • Decide if you want to wet or dry dock your boat, and find a marina that provides that option.

  • Determine what area of the lake is most convenient for you. There are marinas all around the lake, so find one that is close to you. Make sure the area surrounding the marina is low-crime, and the marina has security measures in place.

  • A marina should have at least 14 feet of overhead clearance.

  • Marinas with fuel-docks make re-fueling your vessel more convenient.

  • Choose a marina that is equipped to properly handle wastes generated by your vessel. These include used oil, contaminated fuel, leftover paint, antifreeze and garbage.
